About Me

My love and enjoyment of nature come from growing up in New Hampshire on Newfound Lake. I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying boating, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, even gardening. The opportunities the New England states give you to get outdoors and enjoy nature are endless. There are so many hidden ‘gems’ in New England that can be reached by a road trip or a beautiful hike.

I live in Alexandria, New Hampshire, very close to where I grew up and my career path lead me to become a web developer. I don’t get to spend as much time outdoors as when I was younger but my love for the outdoors has never diminished. In 2016, I became interested in photography and bought my first camera. It was fascinating! I had taken a photography class while getting my website development degree so I knew a little about cameras. To learn more about capturing amazing images, I took a few online photography classes, watched some amazing photographers’ YouTube channels, and read photography books. I really enjoy learning the details, nuances and tricks to be able to go out and take beautiful landscapes and amazing night pictures (that the naked eye can’t even see).

I packed up my camera and all the gear I needed and started taking weekend road trips or planning camping trips, where I would go out and take pictures using all the techniques that I learned online and in books, practicing, honing and discovering new skills to take better composed photographs. Being from New Hampshire, and knowing the area, I have mostly focused on taking pictures of popular landmarks, and places I have always enjoyed. We have all probably seen many pictures of these popular tourist destinations; my goal was to take each picture from the view I found most interesting and I hope I’ve done that. Every picture taking adventure leads to new and exciting places in the New England states that I haven’t been too or that I revisit and see again as I decide how to best frame my pictures.

As I continue my journey in photography, I am finding that I enjoy taking pictures of covered bridges, waterfalls, and lighthouses. Also, Astrophotography is so interesting,  I’m branching out into that more, learning the techniques and tricks and getting into light painting. I hope to continue this photography journey, learning how to take amazing pictures that everyone enjoys. My ultimate goal would be to travel the United States and take pictures of all the different landscapes and beautiful destinations that every state has to offer and of course get the night sky in the all those states.
